Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
As in obedience to the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed [is better] than the fat of rams.  1 Samuel 12:22 AMP 

The world is passing away, and with it its lusts [the shameful pursuits and ungodly longings]; but the one who does the will of God and carries out His purposes lives forever.  1 John 2:17 AMP

Do everything without murmuring or questioning [the providence of God],  so that you may prove yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish in the midst of a [morally] crooked and [spiritually] perverted generation, among whom you are seen as bright lights [beacons shining out clearly] in the world [of darkness],  Philippians 2:14-15 AMP

God’s convicted me as a child of His to obey what He says. To obey Him is better then sacrifice because obeying is more often things that are painful.

It does not matter what ‘everyone else’ is doing. God will ask me one day what I was doing and I will give account for everything said and everything done in my life to be tested by fire in heaven.

The closer you get to God, the more sacrifice that is involved in getting closer. The more you love God, the more you let go of what is ‘here’ for what he has.
